Calvin and Hobbes

Calvin and Hobbes is a comic that is my favourite comic ever. It is about a kid named Calvin who has a huge imagination, and a stuffed tiger named Hobbes that Calvin thinks is real. Calvin’s dad always talks about building character. There is a girl named Susie that he hates that is in his class at school. His teacher is named Mrs. Wormwood. He hates school and that makes for a lot of funny comics. Part of the reason he hates school is a kid named Moe, the class bully who shaves already, and he is only five. Calvin creates inventions, most of them being a cardboard box and writing on it what it is.

I have the full collection of Calvin and Hobbes and I have read it over 3 times. I always laugh at the comics. Bill Waterson (the author) must have had a lot of good ideas and a great mind for comedy. Most people say that he got his idea from his kids, but he does not have any kids, as he said in the full collection. This comic strip started in November 1985- December 1995.

Calvin’s inventions include a transmogrifier, transmogrifier gun (both of which turn you into the animal/item of your choice), a clone machine, a updated clone machine, and a time machine, but I am sure I am forgetting some. Calvin also sometimes pretends he is a different person with a different job. The people he pretends to be is Tracer Bullet (private eye), Spaceman Spiff (an astronaut), and Stupendous Man (a superhero).

My favourite comic is when Calvin’s dad can’t find his glasses. He is looking all over for them but then Calvin comes up with his hair neatly combed and says, “Calvin, go do something you hate! Being miserable builds character!”

The only way you get this comic is if you are a Calvin and Hobbes fan.

Here is another funny one I like.
